As we wrap up Thanksgiving celebrations and enjoy the first snowfalls, chances are you will start to see some cars driving around with a Christmas tree strapped to the top. If you enjoy a live Christmas tree, you may want to check out some of these local farms that offer pre-cut and cut-your-own options that will have you rocking around your tree in no time!

Braun’s Trees

Interesting Information: Braun’s offers pre-cut and cut-your-own fir and spruce trees, as well as stands, wreaths, and garland. They have been offering trees since 1996 and have over 50 acres to roam. Employees will shake and bale your tree for the trip home, and friendly dogs are welcome to come along!

Hillside Christmas Tree Farm

Interesting Information: Hillside offers a total family experience, with a play area and Tot Lot tree area for kids. In addition to spruce, pine, and fir trees, they have a “Christmas Barn” with hot chocolate, hot cider, and cookies, as well as Christmas decorations for sale and a Christmas Carol Sing Along. Please note the farm is cash or check only (no credit cards).

Arend Tree Farms

Interesting Information: Arend actually has two separate tree farms, and between them they offer several species of fir, spruce, and pine trees. The farms are in Grass Lake, along I-94 between Jackson and Ann Arbor, and Brooklyn on Monroe Pike. See website for additional directions. Arend offers horse-drawn wagon rides on the weekends and the Grass Lake farm has a 150-year old country church adjacent that has homemade doughnuts, cider, and Christmas crafts.
