Google Building, Downtown Ann Arbor

Did you know that Larry Page, the CEO and co-founder of Google, is an University of Michigan Alum?! This could be why he chose Downtown Ann Arbor for one of Google’s 70 locations in 40 different countries around the globe! In each of their office buildings, Google tries to express the personality of the city it is located in through different murals and decorations, so no two offices are ever alike. So stop by the Google Building, located at 201 S. Division Street, and see how Google expresses Ann Arbor!

Back to the Roots, downtown Chelsea, MI

Hanging out in Chelsea one morning I stumbled upon this adorable cafe called Back to the Roots. The atmosphere is very cool and relaxing. They have couches and comfy seating at the back of the shop, booths and tables in the middle by the cafe & sushi bar, and the front is all fair trade retail. The staff is very friendly & helpful and the food is great!

Ann Arbor’s Fairy Doors

If Ann Arbor hasn’t made itself clear already as to how unique and fun it truly is, than right now its screaming at the top of its lungs, because we in downtown Ann Arbor have something that no other city does… FAIRY DOORS! To me, the idea of the fairy doors almost seems like something from the imagination of London or an area overwhelmed with history.

Its quite an interesting story behind how the fairy doors came to be and alot of fun to venture around the town looking for them. But if you dont have the time to stroll the streets of downtown, head to the website for a list of where you can find them. The door above is built-in to the main door to The Ark on Main St.

Local Ann Arbor Art

Throughout Ann Arbor there are tons of places where you can find wonderful hidden spots of art. On Liberty and State is a great wall mural of poets and just down the street from that is an alley of hidden local art. On Miller Rd under the train tracks is a great mural as well. It all just adds a little spice to the Ann Arborites life. There are so many colors and wonderful things to look at while traveling through downtown Ann Arbor. Even while shopping the boutqiues and walking up and down the sidewalks theres always something interesting to take a  glimpse at; from the people to the buildings to the art that surrounds them!
