Back to the Roots, downtown Chelsea, MI

Hanging out in Chelsea one morning I stumbled upon this adorable cafe called Back to the Roots. The atmosphere is very cool and relaxing. They have couches and comfy seating at the back of the shop, booths and tables in the middle by the cafe & sushi bar, and the front is all fair trade retail. The staff is very friendly & helpful and the food is great!

 About BollyFit

Created in 2007 by CEO Anuja Rajendra, BollyFit is the fitness through
dance sensation illuminating Michigan. Rajendra is an experienced dancer, choreographer and magnetic motivational speaker. One of her recent accomplishments was her role in developing the Indian folk dance for U.S. National Ice Dance Champions, Meryl Davis and Charlie White, that helped them win the Silver medal at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada. Davis and White performed this number nationally as part of the 2010 Smucker’s On Ice Tour.  Rajendra recently addressed more than 800 attendees at TEDx Detroit. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN97CxtcWFo)

BollyFit synthesizes artistic elements of Bollywood “film dances” with classical (Bharat Natyam) and Bhangra styles in a dynamic dance experience. A spiritual thread is seamlessly woven in and “consciousness” awakens through dance. BollyFit epitomizes a true ‘mela’ or ‘coming together’ of souls, from first-time dancers to grandmothers who haven’t danced in 30 years, who experience increased athleticism and strength, and emanate aliveness. Classes are offered for both adults and children in several locations throughout Southeastern Michigan, including Ann Arbor, Plymouth and Canton. BollyFit classes are taught by Anuja or certified BollyFit Guides. All guides are current BollyFit students, teach under Anuja’s direction, and have been trained by Anuja to teach classes featuring her proprietary content and choreography.

Spring classes begin Sunday, March 20. A full schedule of available classes is listed below:

Panchero’s Mexican Grill in downtown Ann Arbor is located 1208 on S University, really has no secrets. They make their own dough from scratch, roll the dough by hand, and even press each (vegetarian!) tortilla fresh for every order … right before your eyes! So, not only is the dough animal-friendly and gluten-free, but it’s also FRESH! And you do not have to worry about MSG- because they don’t touch that stuff!
