Things to Do this Fall in the Ann Arbor Area
Autumn has arrived! Although the temperatures are cooling down, this is still a great time to get outside and enjoy the beauty and bounty of nature before the snowflakes start to fall. We’ve included some options for great fall festivals, farms with apple and pumpkin picking, and (of course) football below.
Take in some history and satisfy your sweet tooth at the Dexter Cider Mill. They are the oldest continuously operated cider mill in Michigan, and they are now open with fall hours, Wednesday – Sunday, 9am – 5pm. In addition to natural cider, the Mill also offers a variety of delicious baked goods and weekend entertainment. Visit them at 3685 Central Street in Dexter.
A2 Ice Cube, Ann Arbor, MI
The last home game at the A2 Ice3 is vs. Manhattanville this Saturday Oct. 29th. All games are played at the Ice Cube. It is $1 for youth hockey players, $4 for students, military, seniors, and $6 for adults. Call 734-327-9251 for tiks, or visit them here.

Main items include t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, footwear, & Ann Arbor themed college games. Occasionally Gift Shop also allows you to have the entire family participate in the sporty fun with childrens clothing & stuffed animals.

The Polo Fields Golf & Country Club in Ann Arbor is an 18-hole golf course & country club with fitness center, tennis courts, hot tubs, lap-pools, and regular swimming pool. It’s a great place to relaxation and have a ‘stay-cation’. The club house also features a large banquet room. The Polo Fields is great for banquets, golf outings, and special events.
Although Bar Louie calls a lot of places home, we have one right here in downtown Ann Arbor, on Liberty St. Here in A2 it’s open from 11am til 2am for lunch, dinner, and late dining. Perfect to head over for some post-game grub now that Football season is in gear.
It’s that time again! In case you haven’t seen all the freshman faces and the students unloading for the fall semester, tonight is the first Football game of the year! U of M will face U-Con in the first game of ’10, tomorrow Saturday 9/4 at 3:30pm! Come early to get the best parking and tailgate with friends.

Yost Ice Arena is the home of the University of Michigan hockey teams, figure skating, and holds open skate times for the public. The next UM game for the enthusiastic fans is Friday, February 19th at 7:35PM. Schakolad Chocolate Factory is sponsoring a Valentine’s Day Skate Thursday, February 11 from 8-9:50PM! Not only do University of Michigan’s Men and Women’s basketball teams play at Crisler Arena, it also holds events such as gymnastics, high school graduations and concerts. UM Regents are considering a proposed major renovation that could begin in 2011….check out the story here. Keep an eye on the next men’s basketball game, vs. Northwestern, on Tuesday, Feb. 2, as they’ll need to win this Big 10 game to keep fighting towards NCAA’s March Madness !
